Hello peoples! This one time I worked with someone who made a website for real life trading types who dealt exclusively with certain types of goods. Some of them probably even wore suits and didn't smell! So it must have been legit.
It had a rating system so they could all pat each other on the back and give hugs and kisses to the traders they liked and frown at the ones they didn't like.
Then it let them advertise all the loot they were selling at a fixed price.
This made me think, hmm! Real life copies Eve! But I couldn't find anything similar for Eve so I would like to know if there would be any interest in a similar website for traders?
Basic idea: traders register and post buy/sell requests at fixed prices. Maybe have a minimum time before an order can be changed. They then get in contact with each other ingame and carry out the transaction themselves via direct trade or contract, or however they like. Then post feedback on the site.
There could probably be more features added later but this is the starting point and something that could be up and running relatively quickly.
Of course issues like alts would need to be dealt with but I am sure there would be some ways to help reduce that problem.
So would there be any interest in this idea? It would be adapting an existing real world site which actually is being used by traders and putting pretty space ship pictures and space ponies on it.

People could put up (probably bulk) requests and get sales/purchases that way, helping build relationships and chains. Probably it could be added to show some market prices from some other sites which supply that data.
It would be an out of game tool so accessible from anywhere with a browser and could add another source of deals. People would also be able to rate their transaction, maybe add things like histories and so on.
As I say, this is to see if there would be any interest and also if people have any suggestions or ideas to add to it which could be implemented

Your posts make me tired. And your portrait haunts me at night. Please stop talking inside my head.
The voices, they tell you to give me your stuff
Well, it was just an idea since I do actually have the existing website to hand but I guess there is no demand/need/interest in such a site so at least it saves wasted effort

Edited by: A Little Girl on 18/08/2011 06:28:25 The site I have is no longer online but for reference a similar one exists here which has fairly specialized traders from around the globe but mostly in the U.K.
It is quite well regarded within their particular industry and the trade involved amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars, if not billions overall. My idea was to have something similar for Eve but with the addition of extra feedback and rating system which the above site does not have.
